Redleaf Pool

Redleaf pool located in Double Bay near the site of the Woollahra City Council was the location of my most recent trip in Sydney. This pool is not a man-made pool, rather an enclosed area within Double Bay. The pool is adjacent to the small Double Bay marina and the ferry terminal but unfortunately it doesn’t seem as though you can walk directly along the beach front to the pool (lest you soil the view of the residents).

Upon arriving at the pool you can stop by the cafe or head down the steps to the pool, which has both sand and grass to recline on and watch the people frolicking and the views over the harbour towards North Sydney.  The pool also has two pontoons and a walkway around the perimeter of the pool.

Facility wise it also features showers and change-rooms but limited undercover areas in case of rain. The only downside I saw were the smokers who aren’t technically allowed to smoke but do so and leave their butts lying around.

For such a well placed public and free pool there were relatively few people, granted the overcast conditions may have limited the numbers, but apparently this is normal.

Many thanks to Rhi and D for recommending Redleaf Pool. If you live in the area you should chill out and relax at the pool just remember to slip, slop and slap.
